Who are Alpha Dogs?
Alpha Dogs is a small Danish business run by Honey, who is a self-taught artist with many years of experience in costume making. Alpha Dogs specializes in making one of a kind animal costumes and works with a wide variety of clients from all over the world.
When do you open for commissions? How long is your turnaround time?
Alpha Dogs opens for commissions 1 to 2 times a year and accepts a limited number of custom projects at that time. The turnaround time for these is around 1 year. In addition, throughout the year you can find artist designed Alpha Dogs suits for sale through auction or private bidding. These will be announced on the Alpha Dogs Twitter as well as the Telegram announcement channel (see links at the bottom of this FAQ).
How do I order? What are your prices?
All commission openings are announced through this website, the Alpha Dogs Twitter and the Alpha Dogs announcement channel in Telegram. Each opening there are 3 to 5 spots available for custom projects. If you are interested in a spot, you’ll need to fill out an application form for a quote. This form is available for 1 to 2 days, once it closes quotes will be mailed to the projects chosen from the application batch. If you are chosen, you’ll be asked to accept or decline the quoted price.
The following is a general pricing guide to help you get an idea of the price range for my products.
Please keep in mind: prices vary from project to project and are determined by a lot of factors such as design complexity and features requested. Look at these as a base idea of prices. The listing prices
are in EUR.
- Full costume*: 7000€ – 9000€+
Includes head, hands, outdoor feet, tail, bodysuit - Partial costume*: 4500€ – 6000€+
Includes head, hands, tail - Head only: 3500€+

*) It’s possible to upgrade partial costumes and full costumes with feet (both indoor and outdoor), separate arms and or leg sleeves, as well as bodysuits for an additional price.
What kind of costumes and features do you offer?
Alpha Dogs specialises in costumes with a toony style, please check the gallery for examples.
Commissions for both fullsuits and partials, as well as head only and bodysuit only commissions are available. It’s always possible to upgrade existing suits with new and/or more parts as long as the materials needed are available, feel free to reach out to discuss.
All Alpha Dogs heads come with 3D eyes, resin noses and resin teeth as a standard. In addition, there’s a wide variety of add-ons available for custom commissions: magnetic eyelids, magnetic tongues, claws (fleece or resin), padded fingers, 5 finger hands, indoor feet/“sockpaws”, horns/antlers, spikes and extra large tails for example.
Alpha Dogs does not offer leg/body padding, moving jaws, electronics or resin/skull masks at this time.
Payment and shipping information
Payment is accepted through bank transfer and most major credit/debit cards. Payment is done in EUR or DKK for Danish customers and all card payments. I do not offer payment plans on custom work and payments must be made in full before work starts.
Shipping is available world wide through PostNord. Suits are always shipped fully insured and with tracking. Shipping price is included in the price quoted to you. Note that the buyer is responsible for any applicable Customs fees, I will not put a lower value on the package.
How do I clean and care for my costume?
The following is a quick cleaning guide on how to care for your costume. It’s strongly recommended you clean your costume after every use and wash the parts that can be washed after prolonged usage to keep your suit fresh and clean. If you’re unsure how to best clean your costume feel free to reach out to me.
Head: In most Alpha Dogs heads the eyes are fully removable, so start by removing the eyes if possible. For a general quick cleaning you can wipe the inside of the head down with antibacterial wipes or spray it with a mixture of rubbing alcohol and water. You can make your own mixture in a
spray bottle at a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio and can add 10 drops of fragrance oil or body-safe perfume to create a nice smell. For a deeper cleaning, you can use a small carpet cleaning machine. Make sure you let the head dry thoroughly on a fan and always make sure the head is 100% dry before storing it!
Body, tail, hands and feet: These parts are machine washable! Turn the body inside out and place the items in a washing bag. Wash at a maximum of 30° with medium spinning cycle. You can use any
washing detergent as long as it does not contain bleach, add a bit of fabric softener if you wish. Lay (not hang) the items to dry on a drying rack, optionally with the help of a fan.
Important: You need to brush the fur out straight after washing. Failure to do so will result in crinkled fur, so remember this step! Never put your costume parts in a dryer! Never apply strong direct heat for extended periods of time as this may melt or otherwise ruin the plastic fibers the fur is made of. You can however use a hairdryer to straighten out crinkled fur with controlled heat appliance. If you need further guidance for this step, feel free to ask me for further instructions.
It’s recommended you brush your costume after use to make it look nice for longer. Do not be alarmed if the costume sheds. This is normal.
There are a variety of brushes you can use, but it’s recommended you use a comb with ‘rolling teeth’ as it’s more gentle on the fur.
